Discover Systema, a Russian martial art that develops practical movement, awareness and resilience through a combination of breathing, body movement and partner-based training.

Each class begins with exercises designed to prepare the breathing, muscular and nervous systems before progressing into a series of drills built around a particular theme or concept. Exercises are adapted to suit the ability of the class, allowing participants to explore the techniques at an appropriate pace.

You'll then have the opportunity to apply what you've learned through controlled partner work, with intensity adjusted according to your experience and comfort level under the instructor's supervision.

Classes conclude with lower-intensity exercises to reinforce the key concepts and help the body recover, followed by a traditional training circle where participants reflect on and share their experience of the session.

What to expect:

Breathing and movement exercises
Progressive technique and concept-based drills
Controlled partner work and practical application
Cool-down and recovery exercises
End-of-class training circle
