For ages 13 and above. Our flow sequences are based fundamentally on Ashtanga Yoga as well as Hatha Yoga poses. There are 5 wonderful flavors (flow sequences). The flows are namely ‘The Hip flow’, ‘The Shoulder flow’, ‘The Core Flow’, ‘The Legs Flow’, and ‘The Back & Spine Flow’. Each flow is designed to support practitioners of all experience levels and to provide classes that fit the body’s unique and ever-changing needs. Each sequence is structured to challenge the strength and flexibility of the body – by using a series of postures, one will learn the art of synchronizing each movement with each breath, in a continual flow and therefore creating an internal heat that aids in the detoxification of the body and mind. Each session begins with Pranayama, which is commonly known as a breathing exercise to create awareness and emphasize the importance of effective breathing, which is also the basis of Yoga. The session will roll on with simple joint mobilization stretches, followed by a series of standing, seated, and floor poses and savasana (commonly known as relaxation exercise) at the end of the class for complete relaxation of body and mind. The poses in each sequence are strategically arranged in a well-thought order to provide maximum improvements without over-straining one’s body. This effect is achieved on the basis of strengthening the opposing muscles while executing the poses. Opposing muscles are sets of muscles that work together to assist you in achieving a pose and if these muscles are strengthened together, it creates a balance between the opposites, which is of great importance to see fast and lasting improvements and as well as to prevent injuries. For e.g. After doing a plank pose to strengthen the abdominals, the flow will lead you to an upward dog/ cobra pose to strengthen the back.
